Corinna Won is a Kenyon College Class of 2028 student studying Political Science.

Research interests: In my next two years at Kenyon, I am interested in looking into gender policy on the left in connection with gender theory. I am passionate about finding sustainable policy solutions for women and addressing our heavily debated modern gender problems and “divide”. I am also interested in exploring this issue on a comparative constitutional level. I have been passionate about the judiciary, Supreme Court and judicial politics for several years. Furthermore, I am also interested in conducting research on modern Korean/Japanese Fiction literature (Sayaka murata, Han Kang) and the genre’s political implications.

Previous research experience: This past summer I was a John Adam’s Summer Scholar at Kenyon working with Professor McGee. Our team conducted research on the federalist society to flesh out their vast network of influence in the Legislative and Judicial branches. I will be presenting a poster for this research in the fall. In my most recent semester in the spring, I worked for Professor McGee for the first time collecting data for a paper he was writing on Congressional Court Curbing Legislation.

How I got started: Professor McGee is my advisor and we have a strong working and personal relationship. I preformed well in his class and attended his office hours often to discuss politics. In one of our meetings, I expressed how passionate I was about finding Political Science research opportunities at Kenyon. He informed me that he had been thinking about asking me already to join his research this summer. Additionally, in the spring he invited me to join his Court curbing research because he knows how passionate I am about the judicial branch and constitutional law.
