Chloe Chen is a Kenyon College Class of 2029 student studying Molecular Biology.

Research interests: I’m interested in xenobiotic transport within the mosquitos Aedes agypti and how toxic chemicals move throughout the body. I am also interested in medicinal research such as cancer treatments.

Previous research experience: I currently work in Professor Matthew Rouhier’s mosquito lab. I have previously worked in a dry lab at Purdue University under Professor AJ Schwitchtenberg, studying sleep development.

How I got started: I got started by speaking with my teammates who are in research and also attending the chemistry research “hood” where I was able to learn about research opportunities at Kenyon. I reached out to Professor Rouhier explaining my interest and started from there. I would also love to explore other research opportunities during the summer.

Looking for: Summer research programs
